PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING & ASSESSMENT
Psychological testing that brings clarity.
When symptoms overlap or important questions remain unanswered, a comprehensive evaluation can provide a clearer path forward. PCAL offers ADHD, neuropsychological, personality, and pre-surgical evaluations delivered with clinical precision and personal attention.
WHAT TESTING CAN DO
More than a test score.
Psychological testing combines clinical interviews, relevant history, standardized measures, and professional interpretation to better understand how a person thinks, feels, and functions.
A comprehensive evaluation can help distinguish between concerns that may appear similar, identify meaningful strengths and challenges, and provide clear recommendations for treatment, health, and everyday life.
The goal is not simply to assign a label. It is to answer the right questions and turn the findings into a practical path forward.
OUR EVALUATIONS
Focused evaluations. Practical answers.
ADHD Evaluations
Because ADHD can resemble anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties, and other concerns, an evaluation considers attention, impulse control, executive functioning, behavior, and relevant history to determine what may best explain the difficulties.
Personality Assessments
Personality assessment can help clarify emotional patterns, coping styles, interpersonal functioning, and complex symptoms. Results provide a more complete clinical picture that can inform diagnosis, treatment planning, and recommendations.
Neuropsychological Evaluations
A comprehensive look at cognitive functioning, including attention, memory, language, processing speed, reasoning, problem-solving, and executive skills. Findings can clarify strengths and challenges while helping guide diagnosis, treatment, or accommodations.
Pre-Surgical Evaluations
Some medical procedures require a psychological evaluation before surgery. We assess readiness, expectations, coping strategies, support systems, and relevant behavioral or emotional factors, then provide the requested documentation and recommendations.
WHAT TO EXPECT
A thoughtful process from first question to clear recommendations.
01 — Define the Question
We begin by understanding what prompted the evaluation, the concerns you hope to clarify, and how the results will be used.
02 — Gather the Full Picture
Your clinician reviews relevant history and records and conducts a clinical interview. With permission, input from family members or other professionals may also be included.
03 — Complete the Evaluation
Your psychologist selects standardized measures based on the referral question and the areas of functioning that need to be understood.
04 — Understand the Results
Your psychologist integrates the findings, explains what they mean, and provides a written report with clear, practical recommendations.
WHEN TESTING MAY HELP
When the picture is still unclear.
A psychological evaluation may be worth considering when:
• Attention, organization, or impulse control difficulties interfere with daily life
• Changes in memory, reasoning, language, or processing speed raise concerns
• Emotional or behavioral symptoms overlap or have been difficult to diagnose
• Treatment has not produced the expected progress and additional clarity may guide the next step
• A surgeon or medical program requires a psychological evaluation
• You need comprehensive findings and practical recommendations based on objective information
You do not need to know which type of evaluation to request before contacting us. During your initial consultation, the psychologist will discuss your presenting concerns with you and work collaboratively with you to determine the most appropriate course of testing.
